As a child, I became a huge fan of Sailor Moon. I loved the manga, anime, and world Naoko Takeuchi had crafted. She made a comic book world specifically for young girls. A place of empowerment for those also afraid to stand out or grappling with their identity, etc.
Her Tokyo was one of superpowered young girls where friendship reigned as much as love did. I am still a die-hard “moonie” fan today; I even created moodboards on Tumblr in honor of her characters. In appreciation of Naoko, I have decided to share them. Enjoy!
